A “B Cup” Or May Be A “DD Cup”? Read Before You Go Under The Knife

Recently a popular joke was doing its rounds over the internet. It went like this. A lady bought herself an airplane – shaped pendant and asked her boyfriend if he liked the plane. The boyfriend said he did, but he liked the runway even more! No prizes for guessing what that meant. He was referring to her nice cleavage. We are however not pretty sure on whether she was lucky enough to get free breast implants from us or had to shell out a fortune on “Silicon” or “Saline”.

Most women want their breasts to look perky and have at least a full B cup, if not a DD. The truth however is that not all of us are spared the wrath of defective genes, breast cancer and a combination of time and gravity. Right from the inappropriate embrace of a tight dress to the indifferent glance of a colleague in a board meeting, small breasts can often times spell social stigma.
The basic difference between the two types of implants

There are two different types of breast implants available in the market – silicone gel based and saline based. Be it free breast implants or paid ones, the choice of the material depends mostly on the condition of the patient. The two implant variants available differ from each other in texture and consistency. While Saline-filled breast implants constitute of a silicone envelope packed with saline solution, the silicon variants contain a silicon gel in a silicon envelope.

Silicone gel is a viscous fluid, hence offers a structural consistency that resembles human fat tissue, which is a major ingredient of human breast tissue. Saline filled implants are less compressible and present more firmness and rigidity.

The concept of free breast implants has been mostly found to be an eye wash, with implant services being offered as a complimentary service to paid face lifting or weight loss programs. Some women who received free breast implants with the saline variant have complained that the breasts feel more artificial, hard and unnatural. If it’s not for the so called free breast implants, the surgical procedures are more polished and the same saline variant feels better. Silicone gel variants however feel natural since they mimic human fat.
Restrictions on getting silicon based implants.

U.S FDA officials feel that silicone gel implants can be given to women aged 22 or older. The age restriction does not seem to have a scientific ground, but the officials feel that at and after 22 a woman can make a fully informed decision regarding breast augmentation – including potential hazards and cots. Silicone implants are mostly used for breast reconstruction and augmentation.

Restrictions on getting saline - filled implants.
Just like their silicon counterparts, saline based implants also carry an age restriction. However, one needn't wait to be 22 or older – one can get an implant at the age of 18. The difference in age restrictions is probably attributed to the different risk factors associated.

Saline based implants are available for breast reconstruction and augmentation to women of any age above 18. This costs less also. So, if you are in a hurry to look great at a lesser price, this might be the right option.
